Hi Russ,

I’m home at last and wanted to say a huge thank you again to yourself, Gareth and everyone else involved for the brilliant service I’ve received, the effort you guys have put in, the hard work…everything really.

Price is one thing (and I really do appreciate the pricing you gave me) but the assistance, service and simply general attitude from Gareth and yourself over the past couple of days (and on the phone a few weeks back) have also been top notch, far better than I’ve experienced anywhere else. Despite the 400 mile round trip, I’d definitely come back for future work and wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to recommend your services to anyone else.

I also wanted to let you know how the car felt on the ride home:

Although subtle, the engine certainly feels smoother at lower revs. The idle, as I mentioned before, certainly seems smoother and more stable. Also, pulling away from a standstill and general acceleration from low revs seems a bit smoother too. It was never ‘bad’ but there is certainly a subtle improvement.

The flat-spot around the 3500RPM mark is gone and the engine just feels a bit smoother throughout the rev range.

I didn’t get much of a chance to see how much of a difference the new MAF, specifically, has made. What with traffic, endless roadworks on the M1 and countless speed cameras, there wasn’t much opportunity to push it too hard. On the odd couple of occasions I could put my foot down, there did seem to be a bit more oomph higher up in the rev range 4500~5000 RPM onwards. Not massive difference, but it did seem to have a bit more than before.

As for the suspension work, it certainly does feel different. The front end feels more precise and a bit sharper. The rear end does feel more planted and just ‘tighter’ in general.

On the subject of suspension, the replacement control arms you put on the rear do seems to have quietened down some of the knocking/rattling I heard over poor/broken road surfaces. I’ll have to see if I can do something about the roof creaking now! ;-)

Anyway, enough chatter from me! ;-)

Thank you once again for everything, you guys have been brilliant.

Cheers,
Jon
