Porsche 911 SC Restoration

The Revolution Porsche team were delighted to return this 1983 3.0 911 SC to its owner in superb condition, after many hours of painstaking work to restore a vehicle that was riddled with corrosion when it arrived at the workshop.

The original problem we were asked to address was the extreme corrosion to the lower kidney bowl and sill areas. However, as we stripped down the car we discovered the corrosion was much more widespread, with many issues resulting from poor-quality repairs earlier in its life.

After we removed all the body components and stripped the paint, we began the process of preparing the 911 for a full respray. One of the largest tasks was to complete hours of welding work around the lower sill areas, which had suffered particularly bad corrosion.

The vehicle was given a full etch primer coating to all bare metal areas, along with a rust inhibitor to prevent future corrosion. We then assessed the body for minor dents and imperfections, and undertook the necessary repairs.

Once our skilled team had completed the lengthy preparation and repair stage of the restoration, the 911 was moved across to the paint shop, where the whole shell was given a full respray in the original factory black.

The end result was a beautiful car looking as good as new, despite being 35 years old.
