I recently took my 2004 986 S Anniversary to Russ and the guys at Revolution for some work. I had not been to Revolution before, but the car had. In 2012 it had nearly £3500 worth of fettling including IMS/Clutch, RMS, Brakes Discs/Pads, Belts, Air Con Condensors, Tyres etc...it was the main reason I picked this particular example (the reputation of the Revolution chaps). Anyway, I had owned the car for a few weeks and (as I currently live in Kent) took it to Porsche Tonbridge for a major service. This and coil packs/spark plugs were done.

I was fairly impressed with the service received and the price for the menu work. It was still at the back of my mind to get the car up to Revolution at the earliest opportunity though.

I was at a loose end a couple of weeks ago and decided to combine the trip to Revolution with a brief holiday in the Lake District (Coniston). I dropped the car in on the way back down South and left it with Russ for a few hours. I had requested the free 111point check, a new Bosch battery, GEO setup, some exhaust clamp work and the horn to be fixed. I decided to hang around in Brighouse for the duration and managed to entertain myself, just about. The dreaded phone call came from Russ. He had noticed a few other bits that needed doing and talked me through it. Namely Front Top mounts, inner ball joints, a pas leak and a few other bits.

When I collected the car I was very impressed (as I thought and hoped I would be) with the service received. Russ took time to explain any preventative work required imminently and was happy to chat about any aspect of the car. I really cannot recommend these guys highly enough. I now need to get my Boxster signed up to their maintenance plan and get another couple of minor bits done.

It is definitely worth the journey when you find a garage that are this good. The car now drives superbly. I am looking forward to a few more short hols in Lakes whenever the car needs some attention.

Many thanks Russ, Gareth and the team
